Very disappointing experience at this Post Office.
I was advised to pay an additional Special Delivery fee for the return of my important documents and was told this was required. I trusted the advice given in branch and paid around £10 extra for a return service.
Later, I discovered that my documents were actually returned by the Home Office using a completely different Royal Mail tracking number, meaning the prepaid return service I paid for appears not to have been used.
When I returned to ask for clarification and a refund, I was directed to a staff member named Farzad, who appeared to be the manager or person in charge. I explained that the return tracking number I paid for appeared unused, but I was told nothing could be done because the “stamp had already been cancelled”.
I also reviewed the guidance shown to me in branch and it appeared to relate to DVLA rather than my own situation. This left me feeling that I may have been incorrectly advised and charged unnecessarily.
I understand mistakes can happen, but I expected clearer guidance, accountability, and better customer service — especially when dealing with important documents and additional charges.
